The HAND-TRANS mechanically transfers eggs from the farm tray to the setter flat, using compressed air which is readily available in the hatchery, in a rapid, secure and simple process. Putting the tray and flat in close proximity, the HAND-TRANS picks up 30 eggs from the tray and deposits them in the flat.
Transferring to the Petersime flat, which has a straight grid, is especially simple and the eggs are moved directly from the tray into the flat. For Jamesway, Casp, Chick Master type flats that have diagonal configurations, the eggs are first picked up by the HAND-TRANS and then pneumatically reconfigured into position to fit into the diagonal flat.
In addition to transferring the eggs, the HAND-TRANS allows for a complete inspection, on the upper part when the eggs are in the tray and then, on the lower part, once they have been picked up by the HAND-TRANS. The tray does not have to be full for the HAND-TRANS to work. It can pick up as few as 20 eggs, no matter how they are located in the tray.
The HAND-TRANS has been proven to reduce labor and transfer time, in addition to reducing cracks in eggs and contamination. This all results in reduced costs and increased hatchability. The HAND-TRANS is light and quiet, it’s low maintenance and easily cleaned.
