The Ovo-Trans is a secure and rapid machine for transferring eggs from setter flats to hatcher baskets, streamlining a process that is very time consuming and often results in cracked eggs. It also eliminates repetitive motion syndrome, a problem that has been plaguing hatcheries in recent years.
The transfer process is extremely simple and quick: Two operators, working independently, can transfer up to 50,000 eggs per hour. The first worker places a full setter flat in the Ovo-Trans, where, once locked into place, the suction cup platform lowers and picks up the eggs. The second worker inserts the hatcher basket before the platform lowers again, depositing the eggs. There is a safety devise so that the platform only lowers once it receives the signal that the basket is correctly positioned. In the meantime, the empty setter flat is automatically ejected from the Ovo-Trans and the first worker introduces another full flat.
Suction cup platforms are available for all types of egg flats and can be interchanged within a few minutes, when, for example, changing from 77 to 84 egg flats.
The Ovo-Trans reduces cracks in eggs and increases the speed of the transfer process, resulting in more hatchable eggs and a reduction in labor. The construction in stainless steel guarantees ease in cleaning and a long life and the Ovo-Trans can be washed with high pressure cleaning equipment.
